“The heart of Old Siegen – Market, Nikolai Church and Town Hall”

Siegen made easy: This offer is barrier-free and has only minor differences in altitude

The guided tour begins with a visit to the Nikolai Church, which dates back to the 13th century as a town church, and, with the golden coronet, bears Siegen’s landmark on its tower. Stories about its founder, Prince Johann Moritz of Nassau-Siegen, illustrate the age of discoveries and religious confusion in the 16th and early 17th century.
The Nikolai Church was the centre of religious life. Trade and transition had their place right next door.

The historical town hall is viewed from outside. Many anecdotes about market activity are recounted while the audience sits comfortably on one of the benches in the Fißmer-Enclosure just outside the church.
